The Active 20-30 September Business meeting will be held this Wednesday (9/2) at CR Gibbs @ 6:15. Our business meetings generally run about 1 to 1.5 hours, and we cover upcoming club business, events and volunteer opportunities. Our club has worked out a deal with CR Gibbs so that we will receive happy hour discounts while in the meeting so that you can enjoy the refreshing beverage and appetizer of your choice at a discounted price. Some of the topics that we will be discussing at this month's business meeting include:
- The Spooky Lagoon
- The City of Redding Christmas Parade
- 2nd Annual Holiday Poker Classic
- Basketball Hoop Giveaways
- Volunteer Opportunities (Anderson Street Fair, Stillwater Pow-Wow, Wings of Angels Spaghetti Feed)
- A Possible Fund Raising Proposal
Our club has really been working hard to make a difference in the community, and our actions have not gone unnoticed, as shown in the following quote in a recent newspaper article written by former City Council member Ken Murray.
“The only hope I see on the horizon will come from those currently 25 to 35 years old. They are community-oriented, as evidenced by the growing membership of the 20 to 30 club, and active in the betterment of us all. There are also some fine young leaders in this group. They can be seen around town doing more and talking less….”
